Midsomer Murders viewers spotted a few Easter Eggs during the 20th mid-series finale, and were loving it.

Despite only returning to screens last weekend, the ITV show aired its 'last in run' on Sunday night (March 17).

And, to celebrate the 20th anniversary milestone, tonight's episode 'Death of the Small Coppers' made many nods to episodes of series past, by including their titles in an important newspaper crossword in the current mystery.

Among the clues were references to episodes including 'Orchis Fatalis', 'The Sword of Guillame', 'Hidden Depths', 'Breaking the Chain', 'The Straw Woman', 'The Green Man', 'Judgement Day', and 'Birds of Prey'.

Yes, that many.
