British Prime Minister Keir Starmer praised his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni on Monday for her efforts in reducing illegal migration, saying his "government of pragmatism" sought new approaches to the hot-button topic. FRANCE 24's Mark Owen speaks to Lorenzo Castellani, professor of history of institutions at LUISS in Rome. He says that migration has become a cross-party issue and it is considered an emergency by governments of any colour.
