Mikael Mandron hits St Mirren double then tips Toyosi Olusanya for the top
Mikael Mandron believes the sky is the limit for Toyosi Olusanya. The St Mirren striker has backed his Buddie to shine on the biggest stage after a stellar show in Saturday’s 3-0 Premiership humbling of Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Olusanya scored one then made another for Mandron who showcased some of his own magic by making his a double to seal victory.
The Londoner is out of contract at the end of the season and been offered a new deal by Saints but boss Stephen Robinson admits he isn’t in a hurry to sell during this month’s transfer window.

Mandron reckons his partnership in attack with Olusanya is a profitable one — and insists he would have no problem getting the
cheque book out for him if he was looking to add firepower.
“Toy and myself up front work really well together,” the 30-year-old said. “He is so fast and so strong — he is always going to run in behind and he will always get on the end of balls that may not look the best.
“I’m more often that not the one who drops to try and get flick-ons or if I can get on the ball and turn, I’m always looking for him.
“He was amazing for his goal and my first goal. I still don’t think he has ran to his fastest pace — he always seems to have an extra gear. He is going to give problems to any defender. I don’t think anyone can actually deal with him.
“Hopefully he can stay with us as he is so important to us. The gaffer said it would take a big offer — if I was a big club I’d definitely pay it! But we want him to stay.
“I don’t think he has a ceiling. I don’t want to put any limits on him. He has shown this season that he can score goals at any time and of any type. He has pace, power and there’s his finishing. That can work at any level.”
Mandron got on the scoresheet for the first time since August with his brace in the Granite City gubbing.
“As a striker, you always want to try and score,” he said. “It had been a while so I’m really glad that I was able to get two and hopefully I can get many more. There’s way more to my game than just goals. I contribute to the team in many ways.”
Saints are aiming for a hat-trick of top-six finishes in the Premiership and Mandron reckons this convincing win over the Dons can fuel their latest bid.
“We’re very happy as it was an amazing team performance from start to finish,” he added. “The table is really tight but we’re back to winning ways. Everybody played well and this will give us confidence.
“On a journey to get to the top six and Europe, you are always going to have some ups and downs.”
