Mike Thalassitis' Love Island co-star Olivia Attwood reveals disgusting trolls have targeted her over tribute

Olivia Attwood has revealed she was targetted by trolls after she posted a tribute to Mike Thalassitis in the wake of his death.

Thalassitis, who appeared on Love Island in 2017, was found dead in a woodland close to his Essex home on Saturday.

Following the tragic news, Attwood shared an emotional tribute to Thalassitis, who she shared a brief romance with on the show.

Alongside a picture of the pair in the villa she wrote: “Literally don’t know what to say. Another one gone too young. Thinking of Mike’s family and friends at the horrendous time. You will be missed terribly.”

She received a slew of hate for the post, with one reading: “This is disgusting, he was an amazing person and you fell for him but this is all you could say about it. You b***.”

Baffled by the vile message, Attwood hit back: “I wasn’t going to acknowledge this, but I’ve had a few messages like this, so here we are.

“Who is anyone to say what I need to post on my social media? I decide what’s appropriate, not you!

“This time is about Mike’s family and the people he was genuinely close to and that’s it. Worlds gone mad. Maybe this is why Instagram is full of self-indulgent b****** and people are confused when you don’t comply to these weird standards.”

Attwood’s response comes after Thalassitis’ ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna broke her silence on the news, admitting she has been left in “complete shock”.

McKenna was also the victim of cruel trolls who criticised her for not posting online immediately.

On Monday, Thalassitis’ Celebs Go Dating co-star Sam Thompson poured his heart out in a touching post, telling fans he felt he “could have done more” to help him.
