Mike Tyson reveals he smokes weed every day and micro-doses mushrooms to prep for fights

Mike Tyson has revealed that he uses drugs to prep for boxing fights.

The 56-year-old boxing legend told Muscle and Health magazine that he smokes cannabis everyday and micro-doses magic mushrooms to prepare for his matches.

In the interview, Tyson takes six of his own THC Mike Bites edibles, which are created in the shape of Evander Holyfield’s ear.

Tyson and Holyfield had an intense rivalry from 1996 to 1997 ending with Tyson biting a chunk out of his opponent’s ear in the third round of their June 1997 heavyweight rematch.

The Tyson 2.0 cannabis company founder was then disqualified from the match and suspended from the industry, but the two former professional boxers are now friends with one another.

The Hangover star also believes that taking these drugs would have made him a better fighter in the 90s.

He said: “Cannabis is good to workout on for me.

“I just wish I was smoking back when I was fighting - I really lost out there from an athlete’s perspective. [But] if I’d smoked during my boxing career, I probably wouldn’t have been so aggressive.

“I also like taking mushrooms and smoking before fighting. I take psychedelics every day, mushrooms.”

The boxer has now gone on to become a CEO of his own brand and company, Tyson 2.0, and a cannabis connoisseur.

He said: “I can now regain what I lost because I’ve been so successful with Mike Bites and other ear-related merchandise.

“It’s like making lemon out of lemonade when you think about it, because I got severely fined for the ear bite and all these years later it’s turned into a blessing.”

He added: “People see it almost as slapstick comedy.

“I’ve been making hundreds of thousands of dollars just from images of biting people’s ears. It’s just incredible and I’m very grateful. It could have been bad. It could have turned out really bad.”

Tyson has also continued with his acting chops following an appearance in The Hangover.

The boxer-turned-actor said how he enjoys being on stage and revealed that he will star in an upcoming Bollywood movie.

He said: “I’ve just finished filming Vendetta with Bruce Willis. I was acting alongside Thomas Jane who played the lead role in The Punisher.

“I’ve also been working on a Bollywood movie. I enjoy being on a stage...I could even belly dance if someone taught me!”
