Mikel Arteta provides crucial Gabriel Jesus injury update after Arsenal win over Sevilla
Gabriel Jesus faces an anxious wait to find out the severity of his hamstring injury.
The Brazil star was in fine form against Sevilla on Tuesday night where he scored a goal and provided an assist for Gabriel Martinelli’s opener.
However, the forward was forced off in the closing stages with a hamstring injury which could make him doubtful for Saturday's match against Sheffield United
“He felt something in his hamstring so let’s see,” Arteta told TNT Sports after the game.
“He’s straight away asked to be subbed, which is not a good news, because Gabby isn’t a player that does that at all.”
Arteta’s side produced an impressive away performance to beat Sevilla 2-1, which leaves them top of their Champions League group.
“I’m very happy to win here. There are not many teams have won here in the last ten years in Europe and we’ve done it.
“I really liked the team, especially the first 60,65 minutes because we played the game we wanted. After we went two-nil up we should have scored a third one and we had openings to score it and we didn’t.
“In one corner, the first action where they had something they scored and from there, they have experience, they have a lot of people and a lot of belief they can get in the game.”
