Miley Cyrus' Homeless VMA Date Is Selling His MTV Award On Ebay

Back in 2014, Miley Cyrus tugged at our heartstrings when she brought a homeless man, Jesse, from Los Angeles as her date to the MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer wanted to highlight the huge problem with homelessness across the US and was moved to tears as she watched Jesse accept her Moon Man trophy for the Video Of The Year award and give a poignant speech about himself.

Now it has been revealed that Jesse is selling the VMA that Miley gifted to him on eBay, with it being reported that he needs the money as he is now expecting a baby. TMZ report that Jesse has turned his life around since attending the VMAs and is now living in a studio flat in LA.

The statuette is engraved with both his and Miley’s names and the description reads: “In mint condition. Very rare one of a kind. No fingerprints.”

You can buy the trophy for $15,000 plus $20 shipping or bidding starts at $10,000.

Speaking as he accepted the prize two years ago, Jesse shared: “I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now.

"I know this because I am one of these people. I survived in shelters all over the city. I’ve cleaned your hotel rooms, I’ve been an extra in your movies, I’ve been an extra in your life.

"Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets, I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight.”

We couldn’t be happier to hear that Jesse is doing so well.
