Pop singer Miley Cyrus and Australian actor Liam Hemsworth are legally divorced, now that a judge has signed off on their settlement.

According to TMZ, Cyrus, 27, and Hemsworth, 30, have officially obtained a divorce, following nearly a decade of their on-again, off-again relationship.

The news comes just a little over a year since the two were married on December 23, 2018, though they announced their split in August 2019, when Hemsworth filed for divorce.

Hemsworth and Cyrus met on the set of their 2009 film, The Last Song, announcing their engagement in June 2012, before calling it quits the following year - and ultimately reuniting in 2016, when Cyrus confirmed the pair were engaged again.

At the time their separation was announced in August, both parties took to social media to share the news with their fans. On Instagram, Hemsworth wrote that he wished Cyrus "nothing but health and happiness going forward."

Meanwhile, the 'Wrecking Ball' singer chose a lengthier response, posting a series of messages on Twitter, aimed at rumors that she had cheated on Hemsworth. "I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I've said it before [and] it remains true, I love Liam and always will," she wrote, before concluding, "I am proud to say, I am simply in a different place from where I was when I was younger."

In the months since filing for their divorce, Cyrus and Hemsworth have both moved on. Cyrus was first linked to Brody Jenner's ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter, and has since started dating Australian musician Cody Simpson.

Hemsworth has been rumored to be in a new relationship, too, as he was photographed kissing Australian model Gabriella Brooks while at the beach earlier in January.
