A 1,000-acre wildfire spreading in northern Oregon’s Wasco County caused officials to order evacuations in impacted areas on Wednesday, August 3.
The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation orders and announced emergency shelters for people and livestock.
Governor Kate Brown issued an Emergency Conflagration Act hours after the fire began.
