Millie Gibson looks set to quit 'Coronation Street'.
The 18-year-old star - who won the Best Young Performer accolade at the British Soap Awards in June - is expected to depart her role of Kelly Neelan this autumn in an "explosive" exit.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Millie’s a huge talent. She has loved her time on the soap but there’s a lot of excitement about what she’s going to do next.
"Everyone has been sworn to secrecy over her exit storyline.
"It’s going to be explosive. Millie’s not even telling people if the door has been left open for her."
It's thought Millie's character Kelly may find out the truth about Gary Windass (Mikey North), who killed her loan shark father Rick Neelan (Greg Wood).
The source said: "Gary’s managed to keep his involvement in the death secret, but it looks like Kelly will finally discover the truth."
ITV recently teased: "The clock has been ticking for Gary Windass ever since he took in the teenage daughter of the man he murdered.
"Increasingly seeing Gary as a father figure, Kelly Neelan was left further indebted to Gary when he rescued her from the clutches of dad Rick’s shady associates in scenes aired in July.
"But having witnessed how far Gary is willing to go to keep her safe, Kelly starts to wonder if he has crossed that line before.
"Meanwhile, Gary’s wife Maria continues to struggle with the unwanted online attention her council work has brought and Gary is determined to protect her. But Is Gary’s past about to catch up with him?"
