Millie's Cookies to re-open in Newcastle with new look and the chance to win a year's supply
There was some concern at the start of last week, when Millie's Cookies suddenly shut down in Newcastle and boarding went up outside its home in Eldon Square. However, cookies fans don't worry, as it will soon re-open with a new look and the chance for people to win a year's supply.
A favourite of many people who work in the city centre, mainly because the smell wafting from it is impossible to resist, Millie's has been in the famous shopping mall for years now, so you can understand why people were left panicked on seeing that it wasn't open as usual. However, the near two week closure isn't a permanent one and instead to allow for a full re-fit, which will see the vendor given a new counter, new signage and new shelving to display it tasty treats.
Millie's Newcastle is set to have its grand re-opening this Saturday, September 28 and anyone who is a regular customer might want to get down extra early as the first 10 people to be served will also be given a year's supply of cookies. Yes, you heard right...Millie's Cookies for a whole year!

That's not the only giveaway either, as, after the 10 lucky people who are served first win their year's supply, the next 20 to make a purchased will also get a free hot milkshake from the new Millie's autumn range. And even if you aren't lucky enough to get your hands on either of those prizes, there will be free samples given out throughout the day.
Talking about the new look for Newcastle, Fi Logan-Wyeth, SSP’s Marketing Director commented: “Millie’s Cookies has been the go-to brand for nearly four decades As we look ahead to the next 40 years, we have begun our store refresh programme to ensure that we continue to delight our customers with the same high-quality cookies they love, alongside exciting new offerings.”
