Million Pound Cube viewers think one pair were "stitched up" with "brutal" first games
The Million Pound Cube continued on ITV tonight (October 21), with Phillip Schofield presiding over two pairs trying to earn some big money.
First of all, we had couple Leanne and Andy, followed by mother and son Patricia and Rick. The latter duo decided to walk away with a very respectable £100,000. Leanne and Andy crashed out with nothing.
Andy took part in the first game of the night, having to press a button to drop a ball into a small tube on a quickly rotating table. Even though he took the chance to simplify the game by slowing the spinning speed down, he still lost a lot of the duo's nine lives on one game. By their third game, they were out of lives.
Meanwhile, Patricia and Rick whizzed through their first two games without breaking a sweat. After losing a few of their lives, the duo decided that they were happy with their £100,000 and took the money.
While viewers on Twitter did think that Patricia and Rick were strong players, many people stated their belief that the tasks that Leanne and Andy faced were much harder, seeming more like high-money games rather than the low-stakes early rounds people expect.

While the second team are doing well, aren't their challenges a tad easier than the first pair? #theCUBE

Looks like #TheCube have given too much money away in previous shows this week. The more difficult challenges are on the less money

#thecube Think there might be alot of OFCOM complaints tonight, on how unfair the 1st couple games were far harder.

The first couple must be tamping, turn over a couple of cylinders and step over a broom handle compared to the shit they had to put up with #TheCube

The Cube returned after a while off the air with a new team-based format and a much bigger potential prize, hence the name change. It kicked off with a celebrity special that had a few technical issues, while viewers have also complained about the amount of adverts.
