Karl Crompton snapped up the delapidated Hoole House and Lodge House in Elswick after winning £11 million in 1996. The then 23-year-old trainee at electrical goods store Comet set to work converting the former probation hostel into a luxury pad, complete with swimming pool, a gym, and a lake.
The conversion was welcomed by Fylde villagers who reported crime in Elswick had gone down to 'almost zero' since the hostel closed its doors the previous year.

The lottery winner, once dubbed 'Rollover Romeo', completed the conversion in 2000 but following his recent divorce, the lavish pad is listed for sale with Rightmove. Standing well at the head of the tree lined drive is Lodge House, a detached house in its own delightful gardens with three bedrooms, two bath/shower rooms and a large double garage (2962 sq ft).
Estate agents Fine and Country describe the property as "a secure, gated and immensely private estate in a highly accessible location. An aspirational and high caliber property that well and truly delivers on all levels for the discerning buyer."
Hoole House is located in a secluded area on Lodge Lane, Elswick, in the picturesque Fylde countryside. Local amenities are available in Lytham and Garstang which boast a wealth of upmarket shops, bars and restaurants.
