Millionaire West Ham owner offers homeless hero of Manchester terror attack a free home

The rough sleeper who pulled nails out of a girl’s face after she was caught up in the Manchester terror attack has been offered a free home as a reward.

Stephen Jones revealed how he watched in horror as children covered in blood begun running out of the Manchester arena after terrorist Salman Abedi blew himself up, killing 22 people.

Wanting to help, he took to pulling out nails and glass from the skin of those who were close to the bomb when it exploded.

Now West Ham co-owner David Sullivan and his son Dave Jnr have offered to pay Mr Jones’ rent for six months as a reward for his selfless actions.

Dave Jnr tweeted: “Me and dad want to rent the homeless man in Manchester a house for 6 months to help him get on his feet.

“If anyone can help us get in touch much much appreciated. Such a selfless act needs rewarding. Please tag anyone who can help us.”

The quest proved successful and after just a few hours, with help from social media users and Manchester’s Booth Centre, which helps the city’s homeless, Mr Jones was located.

He said: “We were having to pull nails and bits of glass out of their arms and faces.

“We haven’t slept most of the night because of what we’ve seen.

“I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself if I’d just walked away. Just because I’m homeless, it doesn’t mean I haven’t got a heart.”

He added: “There’s a lot of good people in Manchester who help us out and we need to give back too.

“I’d like to think someone would come and help me if I needed the help.”
