In the most anticipated birth since Cheryl and Liam's baby boy, April the giraffe has FINALLY given birth to her calf.

The world has been waiting in anticipation for the new arrival, and today (April 15), New York's Animal Adventure Park saw at least 1.2 million people tune into their live stream as the calf was finally born.

Thousands were gathered in London's Trafalgar Square to watch the birth and the calf's very first steps on the giant screen, with many comparing it to that of Donald Trump's inauguration crowd.

Naturally, many people were super excited about the zoo's latest arrival:

Some people seemed to temporarily forget how births tend to go and were seriously grossed out:

And, obviously, the comedians were out in full force:

The zoo has yet to confirm the gender of the calf, but look out for that information soon as there will be a competition held to name it.

April's live stream started in February and has been running to allow viewers to check up on April and her pregnancy ever since.

The zoo's owner Jordan Patch confirmed April's birth was imminent in a video posted to Facebook early on Saturday morning.

"Everybody are you watching?" he said. "We are in labour, 100%! Cancel your plans, it's time to have a baby!"

You can watch the live stream below, but a little warning: it's about as graphic as you expect an animal giving birth to be:
