Mind the gap! Russian subway carriage travels with doors wide open

It's a journey millions of us take every day - but in Russia the underground commute comes with an added element of danger.

Footage filmed in Moscow shows a subway train hurtling down the track with its doors wide open.

Subway passengers were forced to use the underground in the Russian capital with no protection between themselves and the concrete walls of the tunnel as the carriage passed between stations.

It's certainly not an ideal public transport experience for those with young children, or anyone who's had one too many to drink.

And it'd certainly make for a hair-raising commute in London during rush-hour.

The video was filmed by Aleksey Vakulov earlier this month. It is unclear how exactly the subway doors came to stay open.
