Miracle Cat Rescued From Italy Earthquake Rubble After Being Buried For SIX DAYS

This miraculous cat has finally been rescued from the rubble of the Italy earthquake after being buried for a staggering six days.

The moggy, named Gioia - Italian for ‘joy’ - drank gratefully from a bottle of water offered to her by rescuers who found her alive among the ruins of a house in the town of Amatrice.

Gioia’s owner, Daniela Tursini, had been desperately searching for her pet after the devastating earthquake hit the area last week.

She told fire crews: “I beg you, find my cat, she’s all I have left.”

Unbelievably, the cat managed to survive underneath the ruins of the building, suffering from only weakness and dehydration when she was found.

Firefighter Andrea, who found Gioia, said: “I know what it’s like to be hit by a quake and what it feels like when you lose everything.”

Gioia was discovered when rescue teams were clearing away rubble in the town with a bulldozer.

The 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck north-east Rome last week, killing 292 people and leaving another 400 injured.
