Miracle escape for pair after car plunges off West Country cliff

Two people had a narrow escape after their vehicle plummeted off a cliff. The emergency services were called to Ladye Bay, in Clevedon, just after 3.30pm yesterday (Monday, June 10).

Fire teams from Clevedon, Portishead, Southmead and Temple hurried to the location. They worked with paramedics and coastguard crews to rescue the duo before they were transported to hospital.

Clevedon Firefighters stated: ''Just after 3:30pm crews from Clevedon, Portishead Firefighters, Southmead and Temple stations responded to reports of a car which had accidentally driven over the edge of Ladye Bay.

''Crews working alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust Hazardous Area Response Team and Clevedon Coastguard Rescue Team secured the vehicle before rescuing 2 people from the vehicle who were conveyed to hospital by ambulance as a precaution. ", reports Somerset Live.
