Miranda Hart wakes up to home invasion by fox during heatwave
Miranda Hart has revealed she woke up face-to-face with a fox after sleeping with the door open during the heatwave.
The 47-year-old actor and comedian revealed that after struggling to nod off on Tuesday night, she slept on her kitchen floor with the back door open – and was disturbed by a foxy prowler.
Hart tweeted: “In other news... I slept on the kitchen floor (my bedroom is a very HOT room - not in a good way). I had the doors to the garden open. At one point before dawn, this happened - I WOKE UP TO FIND MYSELF FACE TO FACE WITH A FOX...”

In other news... I slept on the kitchen floor (my bedroom is a very HOT room - not in a good way).

She added: “(I may have to do more Miranda to do that scene),” a reference to her eponymous BBC sitcom.
Hart lives in west London, which was forecast high temperatures of 20C overnight. Many social media users shared their struggles with the uncomfortable heat, with the hashtag #toohottosleep trending overnight on Twitter in the UK.
Miranda ran for three series from 2009 to 2015 on the BBC.
Last year saw Hart reunite with co-stars Sarah Hadland, Tom Ellis, Patricia Hodge and Sally Phillips to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary with an hour-long special filmed live at the London Palladium, called Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration.

The sitcom starred Hart as a social awkward shop owner who was in love with an old university friend, chef Gary, who worked in the restaurant next door. The final episode in 2015 saw Miranda and Gary tie the knot.
Hart recently told Yahoo Movies UK that she had not ruled out a further reunion.
She said: “I wouldn’t rule it out, no. I need to have a meeting with myself. Sit down and ask myself: ‘What do we think about this ….?’”
