Misha Collins praises 'Supernatural' fans for being “kindest fandom in history”
It was the news that no sci-fi fan wanted. On March 22, Misha Collins, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles took to Twitter to announce that Supernatural’s fifteen season would be its last. Now Collins has taken to the social media platform again to thank the show’s fans for “impacting the world for the better”.
In an open letter to the #SPNFamily, he talks about how his life changed forever when he joined the show in 2008 and found the fans waiting for him once on board.

He wrote: “I had no idea that when I stepped onto that set for what I thought was a simple acting gig, I was actually being welcomed into a family, not just an cast-and-crew family… but in all of you… our SPNFamily.”

Since joining the show, Collins has worked with the Supernatural fan base to set up the Random Acts charity. It’s this fact that he’s referring to when he continues:
“We have done really cool things together. Together, we’ve built an orphanage and a school, rescued refugees, fed hungry children, and helped people experiencing homelessness or struggling with mental health issues. There is not doubt in my mind that this is the kindest fandom in history.”
“We may have been brought together by this show, but we’re all family now — and that’s not going anywhere. We’ve already impacted the world for the better… and we’re just getting started.”
When the show’s three stars posted the news, it was clear how much they were affected by the decision to not continue.

The show’s creator Eric Kripke took his Twitter to share his own thoughts about the amazing family dynamic on the drama.
#SPNFamily please remember: shows end. But family is forever. That never changes & that's what you've created here. All my love & thanks to the cast & crew & most of all you, the family. #spn @cw_spn@jarpad @JensenAckles @mishacollins @andrewdabb @serathegamble @ben_edlund https://t.co/LlExnMCDLD
