New Sighting Of Missing Boy Who May Be In Coma

There has been a new sighting of a missing 10-year-old boy who suffers from a genetic condition that requires medication three times a day.

A Sky News viewer has told police they believe they saw Malakhi Chijiutomi-Ghosh at 8am this morning waiting for the number 250 bus at Streatham Common that heads towards Brixton, south London.

He may have then boarded the bus. However, he does not have a phone, Oyster card or any money on him.

This sighting was an hour later than the previous most recent one at 7am where he was captured on CCTV walking along the high street at Thornton Heath near the train station.

Police said they were "extremely concerned" for the welfare of the 10-year-old boy, who is thought to have run away from his home in Thornton Heath, Croydon, around 1am.

His disappearance is said to be "completely out of character" and his parents are "distraught".

Malakhi, who likes trains, suffers from adrenal hyperplasia which causes swelling of the adrenal glands and in its most severe form can be life-threatening.

Officers said it is vital he is found so he can receive his medicine.

Because he has had no medication today, there is a "very real chance" Malakhi could have already fallen into a coma, police say.

Officers are carrying out searches in Grange Wood Park, tracing CCTV and speaking to people that live nearby to Malakhi's house.

He is described as being a light skinned black male, 4ft 7ins tall, of slim build with short black curly hair.

Chief Superintendent Andy Tarrant, Borough Commander for Croydon, said: "I would like to reach out to Malakhi and say - please get in touch with us, we are worried about you and want to make sure you are ok.

"You are not in trouble. Your mum, dad and brother are really worried about you and want you to come home and make sure you take your medicine."

The boy is thought to be wearing a dark blue coat with fur on the hood with black jeans and black trainers and a red/orange top with a picture of a meerkat playing the drums on it.

Malakhi has connections to the Thornton Heath, Victoria and Croydon areas and may be travelling on public transport.
