Missing 14-year-old and class B drugs found in car

A missing teenager and illegal drugs were discovered in a vehicle search in Dorset overnight.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team pulled over a vehicle during the night in the Blandford Forum area.

Upon inspection, name checks revealed that one of the occupants was in fact a 14-year-old who had been reported as missing from the area.

A further search of the vehicle and its occupants was carried out and revealed that the class B drug cannabis was inside the vehicle.

As a result of this, both the vehicle and the cannabis were seized by the Police.

The 14-year-old was returned safely to his home address.

The incident was part of an operation designed to support rural communities in Dorset overnight from Thursday, December 7 through to Friday, December 8.

It involved teams from East Dorset Police North Dorset Police Purbeck Police Sherborne Police Weymouth and Portland Police, Dorchester Police and Bridport Police.
