The Meramec River in Valley Park, Missouri, was expected to crest at 16 feet above flood stage on Wednesday, May 3. Mandatory evacuations had been ordered on Tuesday as a precaution, according to a report.
The river cresting is part of widespread flooding in Missouri after heavy rainfall in the region. The river was expected to crest at 44 feet.
