MOBOs 2015: Lenny Henry Thanks EVERYONE In His Acceptance Speech - WATCH

Lenny Henry was honoured with the Paving The Way gong at last night’s MOBO Awards, and he made sure that he maximised his time on stage by thanking everybody in the world and their dog during his acceptance speech.

Kicking off by telling the bemused audience that he “felt like Ed Sheeran”, the humble comic attributed his win to the greats who came before him, explaining: “I could only have got here by sitting on the shoulders of giants, I want to thank some of those giants.”

Lenny then spends two minutes reeling off a long list of names, with some of the people who got a shout out including Bob Marley, David Copperfield, Chris Tarrant, Trevor McDonald, Michael Jackson, and Richard Curtis.

The star also took the time to acknowledge the organisations that helped him make a name for himself, thanking the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Comic Relief, as well as Jamaica, his family and friends.

Lenny rounded up his speech by making light of the amount of people he was thanking, concluding with: “And that bloke from the Halifax advert”.

To be honest, he seems like as a good a choice as any.

Other stars to take home awards at last night’s MOBOs included FKA Twigs, Ella Eyre, Drake, and Fuse ODG.
