Model Market returns as Street Feast gears up for a summer of street food

Model Market: Lewisham's street food hub is back

Street food is back in Lewisham from next weekend as Model Market returns for the summer.

Launching on Friday 28 April, Street Feast’s southernmost hub will run throughout the long Bank Holiday weekend before settling in to regular Friday and Saturday slots throughout the summer — serving until 1am.

There will be 10 mini restaurants, known as micro-diners, and five different bars.

Food on offer will include burgers from Mother Flipper, Caribbean from Mama’s Jerk, chicken from Mother Clucker, steaks from Up In My Grill, Japanese soul food from Nanban and Mexican courtesy of Tacos del Rey, a new offering from the team behind Killer Tomato.

There will also be sweet treats from SE Cakery and You Doughnut.

The drinks lineup will include Rotary Bar, serving super-sized cocktails, Can Hatch dealing in craft beers, more brews at Lewisham Highline, and Winyl for wine and vinyl.

The market will be open from 5pm to 1am each weekend.

It's re-opening follows the arrival of Street Feast in Canary Wharf earlier this spring. Giant Robot at West India Quay is open from 11am until late seven days a week, with an offering that includes tapas bar Little José from José Pizarro.

You can also find the street food gurus at Dinerama in Shoreditch, every Thursday to Saturday from 5pm to late, and at Hawker House in Canada Water every Friday and Saturday from 5pm to late.
