Mohamed Salah contract latest: Liverpool future, Arne Slot verdict, transfer interest
Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool continues to generate headlines as he enters the final season of his contract that he signed back in 2022. Salah is out of contract next summer and there has been a sizable amount of speculation about whether or not he will put pen to paper on a new deal.
As things stand, Salah could walk away from Liverpool as a free agent in less than 12 months time if an extension is not agreed. The Egyptian is not the only player out of contract at Anfield in 2025, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk currently in the same position.
Salah has scored three goals with three assists in as many Premier League fixtures so far this season. He scored his third goal of the campaign in the 3-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday, after which point conversations began increasing about his future with Liverpool.

The ECHO has taken a look at the latest on Salah's future, including what he and head coach Arne Slot have said and more.
Mohamed Salah hint
Salah spoke to Sky Sports after Liverpool's win over Man United and dropped a hint about his future.
The Egyptian's current contract expires in less than 12 months, and Salah admitted that it could be his final season with Liverpool.
"Honestly, I had a good summer," Salah told Sky Sports on September 1. "I had a long time to stay with myself, try to think positive because as you know it's my last year at the club. I just want to enjoy it, I don't want to think about it but I feel free to play football, we will see next year."
He continued: "To be fair, I was coming to the game and I said, 'It could be my last time'. The club have not talked to me yet so I will play my last season and see at the end of the season."
Arne Slot verdict
After Salah's remarks to Sky Sports, Slot was asked about Salah's future in his post-match press conference after Liverpool's win against Man United.
“There’s a lot of ifs there," Slot told reporters on September 1. “But at the moment he is one of ours and I’m really, really happy with him being one of ours. He plays really well.
“I don’t talk about contracts from players, but I can talk for hours about how Mo played today.
“He was impressive like in the first two games. But if we talk about an individual you don’t do justice to all the other ones, because today we saw a real good team performance.
“Playing out from the back, a high press, a midfield that keeps on running. All the attention goes to Mo and Lucho [Luis Diaz] but that doesn’t do justice to the other nine and the others who came in.”
Current contract terms
Salah is currently on the contract he signed back in 2022 which was a three-year extension on his previous deal.
Reports at the time claimed that Salah's new deal would see him earn approximately £350,000 per week.
Should those claims prove to be accurate, it would have made the Egyptian the highest-paid player in Liverpool's history and would have been a significant increase on his previous weekly salary of £200,000.
Transfer interest
The summer of 2023 saw Salah become the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia.
Liverpool rejected a bid worth £150 million from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad in September last year ahead of the country's transfer deadline.
The Reds were not presented with similar interest this summer, although there is likely to be increased speculation the longer it goes without Salah signing a new contract.
