Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday as they host Bournemouth at Anfield. Arne Slot's side will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's shock 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest which handed Slot his first defeat as Reds boss.

Slot's team were able to bounce back on Tuesday with a 3-1 win at AC Milan and will now be looking to put things right in the league. They face a Bournemouth team who lost 1-0 at home to Chelsea last time out, their first league defeat of the new campaign.

Liverpool will host West Ham in the Carabao Cup after facing the Cherries. Below are the latest media reports surrounding Anfield.

Chiesa 'could replace Salah'

Former England full-back Glen Johnson believes Federico Chiesa could replace Mohammed Salah if the Liverpool star departs Anfield. Chiesa arrived on Merseyside from Juventus this summer.

“He’s come to the club with a slight injury, so I think they’re protecting him a little bit at the moment. Once he gets over this injury and is match-fit, then I believe he will help this team big time,” Johnson said in an interview with Betfred. “He’s a player that works his socks off, charges around and a lot of the lads at Liverpool do that already, so he’ll fit in just fine.”

When asked whether Chiesa could be a long-term replacement for Salah, he answered: “Yes. You don’t want Mo to leave, but with Chiesa there already and If Eberechi Eze was also to come in next summer, then they’d both be very good options if Mo departs.”

Kelleher's future discussed

Anfield legend John Barnes has shared his belief that Liverpool backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher could be on the move - but not in as soon as January.

"What I find interesting is, when you've got Ali, who’s the best goalkeeper in the world and the number one, then you'll have to do something extraordinary to take and hold his place," Barnes told Ladbrokes.

"I don't think Kelleher’s under any illusions that he was Liverpool's number one, but he would be thinking about the future, because Ali is not going to be there forever and it’s the signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili that has made Kelleher question that (his Anfield future).

"Giorgi Mamardashvili was one of the best goalkeepers at the European Championships. He isn’t joining until next year, and there are parts of his game that he’ll be working on while he’s playing for Valencia this season.

"Kelleher will feel like he is good enough to be the man to take Ali’s gloves when he departs. Perhaps that’s why he said what he said - it felt like a knee-jerk reaction. Kelleher will know there is a limited amount of games that he is likely to play with Ali in the squad.

"Perhaps he will look at a move in January, but I can’t see a scenario where Liverpool allow that to happen. I think he stays, and I think he fights it out."
