“That sandwich was the only good thing going on in my life.”

Fans of Friends will recognise this line from one of the TV series’ most memorable episodes - the one where Ross has his Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich stolen.

In the episode, Ross is starting to unravel in light of his impending divorce and recent eviction - but the straw that breaks the camel’s back is when someone takes his homemade sarnie, dubbed ‘The Moist Maker’, from the work fridge.

Needless to say, he gets really mad about it. But who can blame him really - it’s pretty clear that this isn’t any old Boots meal deal sandwich.

If you’ve ever watched this episode and wondered exactly just how tasty Ross’s infamous lunchtime treat actually is, you’re in luck - because a savvy YouTuber has lifted the lid on the Gellar’s secret Thanksgiving recipe.

Chef Andew Rea has recreated The Moist Maker in all of its glory, posting a recipe video to his YouTube channel as part of his ‘Binging with Babish’ series.

Rea achieves the sandwich by first basting and roasting his turkey, and then layering the roasted bird alongside lashings of homemade stuffing and dripping cranberry sauce - in a very methodical manner, might we add.

And of course, the finishing touch is to add Monica’s secret tip - an extra slice of gravy-soaked bread in the middle.

The posh butty recipe has clearly gone down a treat on YouTube, where it's had more than 1.5 million views.

Before attempting to make this at home, it’s worth noting at that the three-tiered sandwich is no quick and easy feat.

You’ll need to plan for two days of preparation before you can even think about debuting this teatime treat in the office canteen.

But as today marks the start of National Sandwich Week, what better time to unleash your inner Monica Gellar in the kitchen?

Just make sure you leave a note in the fridge telling everyone just exactly whose sandwich it is.
