A leading family lawyer, who regularly advises high net worth individuals on separation, shone a light on how Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury could split their huge fortune.

The engaged couple, who fell for each other against the backdrop of the Mallorcan Love Island villa, have an estimated net worth of £9 million between them, according to reports. Until now, their love story became one of the biggest successes from the ITV show as they split after five years together.

They moved into their £3.5m dream home in Chester in 2022 which they made their lovenest and place for bringing up their daughter Bambi. Since the split, a spokesperson for Fury told Yahoo: "Tommy is horrified by the false allegations of cheating being circulated by the media and he’s consulting his lawyers."

So what will happen now the TV couple have decided to go their separate ways for good?

Solicitor in Family team at Seddons, Cara Ramprakash, spoke exclusively to Yahoo about how the exes will navigate the media speculation in the wake of the split, divide up the childcare and the caring for their cats, as well as what they will do about their mansion and the engagement ring which is thought to be worth £1m.

The lawyer told Yahoo: "Having had experience of living in the public eye, it is assumed that they both will have a team of individuals advising them on statements to put out in the media and what should be responded to. It is in the interests of Bambi, that their private life is kept as private as possible so that she will not in the future have to read articles regarding the breakdown of her parents' relationship."

Hague and Fury became parents for the first time when they welcomed Bambi into the world in January last year, months before getting engaged. In announcing the split, the former PrettyLittleThing star said her daughter would remain her priority. She said: "I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority."

Ramprakash explained how childcare arrangements work. She said: "Child arrangements are completely fluid and should be what is in the best interests of the child and parents. The courts hope that parents can agree arrangements between themselves.

"With Bambi being so young, arrangements may be easier to agree as there will not need to be arrangements for term-time and separate arrangements for term-time. If arrangements cannot be agreed, Molly Mae and Tommy should look to out of court resolutions such as mediation or solicitor led-negotiations, if appropriate. Failing resolution after these routes, they will need to take their proposals to court."

As well as having baby Bambi, the exes also have two Scottish Folds cats called Eggy and Bread in their care. They must decide who is going to take over looking after the furry creatures.

Solicitor Ramprakash said: "In relation to the cat, pets are chattels in England and Wales meaning they are treated as an item of personal property like a painting might be or electronics." The lawyer pointed out the rules are different for a couple who are married but generally if the dispute went to court there would be a number of factors taken into consideration.

A judge would look at: who purchased the pet, whether the pet was gifted to either party, whose name the pet is registered in, if microchipped, whose name is on the microchip, who has funded the pet's care, which party is financially stable enough to support a pet and who has the most suitable home for the pet.

Travel can be a deciding factor in who is going to take sole custody of the cats too. Ramprakash added: "Although I have no knowledge of Tommy Fury’s schedule, it would appear from social media that he travels a lot. This may be a deciding factor in whether the cats remain with Molly-Mae or not."

Fury proposed to Hague with a stunning five carat pear-shaped diamond ring in Ibiza on the clifftops in July last year. The influencer was seen without her diamond ring in May, sparking the rumours that the couple had decided to go their separate ways. So what will happen to the expensive item of jewellery?

The solicitor said: "This is something that can be agreed between the parties. It may be that Molly Mae does not wish to retain the ring, or that Tommy does not wish for it to be returned. Engagement rings are presumed to be absolute gift.

"This means that technically, once accepted they do not have to be returned. If Tommy wanted to pursue the return of the engagement ring, he would have to prove that the ring was given on the condition that it should be returned if the marriage did not go ahead."

It has been reported that Fury has already packed his bags and left the family home where Hague remains with their daughter Bambi as well as their cats.

The Daily Mail claimed that Hague's name appeared on the Land Registry papers alone when the house was purchased in 2022 for £3.8m - meaning Fury would be unlikely to have any financial stake in the property. There is no provision for engaged couples or those who live together.
