Molly Rainford has been confirmed for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The singer and actress - who finished in sixth place on 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2012 and now plays the title role in CBBC series 'Nova Jones' - is the 10th celebrity announced for the upcoming edition of the BBC's Latin and ballroom competition.

The show's official Twitter account revealed the news, writing: "Say hello to Molly Rainford, she’s an intergalactic pop superstar from @CBBC and she’s here to star on #Strictly!"

The announcement was first made on CBBC's 'Newsround' on Wednesday morning (10.08.22).

In a statement, the 21-year-old star added: "I'm so excited to be part of 'Strictly Come Dancing', I've watched it for years and can't wait to meet the pros and the others taking part!

"I can't wait to learn the moves and get dancing!”

After appearing on 'BGT' aged just 11 and becoming the ITV talent show's youngest ever finalist, she continued her studios and was awarded Simon Cowell and Sony Musioc's first ever drama school scholarship at Sylvia Young Theatre School.

She graduated and can be seen playing intergalactic pop superstar Nova Jones in the CBBC series, with the second season set to air this autumn and a third run already filmed.

She has also released two EPs, and her single 'Commitment' has been streamed over two million times thus far.

Molly joins a star-studded lineup featuring Will Mellor, Kaye Adams, Richie Anderson, Ellie Simmonds, Kym Marsh and Tyler West.

The series will also include Matt Goss, Ellie Taylo and Jayde Adams with more to be unveiled.

They'll be dancing to impress the judging panel, with Shirley Ballas joined by Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.

The show will see four new professionals joining the lineup too, as Vito Coppola, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley and Michelle Tsikkas come into the fold.
