Moment astronaut rides vacuum cleaner around the International Space Station

This is the moment a Russian astronaut rode a vacuum cleaner around the International Space Station.

Anton Shkaplerov recorded himself earlier this week flying through the ISS in a Superman-style pose to the tune of R Kelly's 'I believe I can fly'.

The 45-year-old cosmonaut said: "We frequently get asked if we are flying around the ISS on a vacuum cleaner.

"I had to reply that I haven't tried it."

Mr Shkaplerov has been stationed on the ISS since December after commanding space voyager Soyuz MS-07 into orbit.

The crew consists of Mr Shkaplerov, a Russian, a Japanese doctor, Norishige Kanai, and an American flight engineer, Scott Tingle.

After sharing the video on Twitter, his post received more than 2,000 retweets and more than 5,000 'likes'.

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield became an internet sensation in 2013 when he covered David Bowie's 'Space Oddity' while stationed aboard the ISS.
