Footage shows the moment Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to life behind bars for the murder of his wife and youngest son.

He was found guilty of both killings by a jury that deliberated for less than three hours before coming to a unanimous verdict.

Prosecutors sought the maximum sentence after taking the death penalty off the table.

Murdaugh insisted he was innocent of killing Maggie and Paul at their 1,700-acre Moselle hunting estate.

The judge said he could convince himself of his innocence, but “obviously had the inability to convince anyone else about that.”
