Moment drug driver sped into oncoming traffic in bid to shake off police

A driver led police on a dangerous pursuit before abandoning his car and trying to make his escape. Christopher Foster was stopped by officers as he drove through on the A41 Rowton, Chester at 12.15pm on March 4 2023.

Initially it looked like the 34-year-old was pulling his silver Vauxhall Astra into a bus stop, but as officers pulled in behind him he drove away at speed. Foster proceeded to drive on the wrong side of the road into the path of oncoming vehicles and even mounted a kerb on the opposite side of the pavement and drove down a cycle path.

He then drove through two different sets of red traffic lights at speed in heavy traffic. Police lost sight of the Foster, but shortly after received a report that a vehicle matching the description of the Astra had been found abandoned in Hoole, Chester.
