Moment unmarked police car rams cyclist off bike
Footage shows a man being rammed off his bike while being pursued by police. The footage, shared across social media and captured on a security camera nearby, appears to show a man riding a bike on the pavement at around 10.50pm on Wednesday, November 6.
An unmarked police car then appears behind him before knocking him off the bike as it bumps the curb on the corner of Goldfinch Farm Road in Speke. As the cyclist hits the floor, the car comes to a stop before the man then tries to run away.
As the man tries to run away, an officer raises a firearm towards him and shouted: "Armed police, get on the floor. Get on the f***ing floor now. On the floor now." After being viewed thousands of times on social media, Merseyside Police has confirmed officers believed the man to have been involved in an assault involving men on Speke Church Road and one of the men was armed with a machete.
