Feb. 10—DANVILLE — The Montour Area Recreation Commissioner will be able to create and install an interpretive sign at the Beaver Place Trailhead of the J. Manley Robbins Trail at the Hess Recreation Area in Danville thanks to the support of the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership.
The proposed sign will feature photos and text covering the trail's history as well as information to trail users. The Robbins trail is the oldest known rail-to-trail in the United States, the partnership noted.
The commision is one of two recipients of the partnership's 2023 Susquehanna Greenway Mini-Grant Program. The mini-grant program is open for a second round to distribute remaining funds until March 1.
Eligible applicants can apply online at susquehannagreenway.org/mini-grant-program.
