Moored Houseboats Destroyed by Fire at Moama

Ten houseboats were damaged after a fire broke out on one of the boats on Thursday, December 14, where they were moored at the Murray River town of Moama, Victoria.

Scott Belsey, who recorded this footage, said he initially tried to stop the blaze when it first developed on one of the boats, but quickly realised it was futile. According to local reports, ten unoccupied boats were destroyed while a further ten were removed away to safety. Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service both attended when the fire broke out at about 6pm and later established a crime scene at the site, the Bendigo Advertiser reported.
