Moped rider fighting for his life after crashing into bus during police chase in Tottenham
A moped rider is fighting for his life in hospital after crashing into a bus while being chased by police in north London.
The man in his 20s collided with the bus on Brantwood Road in Tottenham shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
The Metropolitan Police told the Standard he remains in critical condition and that his next of kin have been informed.
The force said the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been informed.

A police spokesperson said: “Shortly after midnight on Wednesday, August 21 a moped was in collision with a bus on Brantwood Road.
“The moped was being pursued by police at the time of the collision.
"London Ambulance Service attended and the rider of the moped, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition. His next of kin have been informed. There were no reports of any other injuries.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of the collision remain ongoing and road closures are in place at the location.
“The Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) have been informed."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 12.14am on Wednesday 21 August to reports of an incident at the junction of Brantwood and High Road, Tottenham.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first of our crews arrived at the scene in three minutes. Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road.”
