More than 100 girls hospitalised after suspected gas attacks on schools in Iran
Hundreds of schoolgirls in Iran were hospitalised on Tuesday (28 February) after suspected poisoning attacks in classrooms.
Local media estimates that around 400 pupils at 30 schools have been affected.
The attacks are thought to be an attempt to stop the girls attending school, according to a government official.
“Our priority is to find the origin of this case, and until then we will not judge whether it was intentional or not,” the Tasnim news agency quoted Iran’s police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan as saying.
