A popular rock band from the 1970s has had its tour bus stolen from a car park prompting police to issue an appeal. The Bay City Rollers, famed for hits including Bye, Bye Baby, Give A Little Love and I Only Want To Be With You, had their white Splitter van stolen in Walsall.

It was stolen from a car park in Bentley Road North, Bentley, Walsall, believed to have been linked to a Premier Inn, on Friday, September 13. The Scottish band said it had all their musical instruments, guitars, keyboards, drum kits, bass on board and ‘all our tartan’.

The group were headed that day to a gig at Trading Boundaries, a venue in Sheffield Green, East Sussex, some 200 miles away. The band had stayed in Walsall and despite the theft said they would still make the gig saying ‘the show must go on’.

The group later posted on their social media catching trains down to East Sussex, with the Trading Boundaries venue hiring musical equipment so they could play. But they are now appealing to find their white Ford van registration number: BX62 DMU. The road it was taken from is near the Black Country Route and close to Junction 10 of the M6.
