More lives claimed in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Azerbaijan said 21 people were killed when Armenian shells hit the town of Barda, northeast of Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenian-backed officials in Nagorno-Karabakh said Azeri shells had fallen on the enclave's two largest cities, killing one person. Both sides denied each other's claims.

A maternity clinic got damaged in the Azerbaijani city of Stepanakert after the city was hit by shelling on Wednesday (October 28).

There were no reports of casualties but blood was seen at the scene amidst shards of glass. According to a report by the Emergency and Rescue Service of ethnic Armenian-controlled Nagorno-Karabakh a civilian had been killed and two wounded by shelling in another Armenian-controlled city, Shushi, 9 miles to the south after shelling by Azerbaijan's forces.

Both Armenia and Azerbaijan regularly accuse each other of specifically targeting civilian populations and infrastructure.
