More snow forecast for Leicestershire as temperatures to hit -4C

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across Leicestershire, meaning disruption is possible from this evening (Thursday, November 21). The warning is in place now, and will remain in place until 10am tomorrow (Friday, November 22).

Temperatures will remain near freezing from 4pm today, with some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services. The Met Office says the coldest period will be overnight when temperatures could feel like -4C.

Forecasters predict the highest chance of snowfall will be around 4am tomorrow, with a 70 per cent likelihood during this period. The Met Office has said that 2-5cm of fresh snow is possible, with this most likely on ground above 100m.

The wintry conditions are expected to improve after the warning ends at 10am tomorrow, with temperatures gradually climbing to 4C by early afternoon.
