Morgan Freeman has finally brought back The Shawshank Redemption… all because of his disgust for Graham Norton.
Graham Norton gets a kick out of recreating classic movie moments on his celebrity-filled couch (remember this Jurassic Park gem?), so Morgan did reluctantly agree to perform some classic The Shawshank Redemption-style narration.
But he turned the tables, instead picking out the litany of things that annoyed him about Graham (like his voice, his silly walk and his obsession with pulling back a pint).
Most of all, Morgan grumbled: "I hope people stop asking me to do stupid voiceovers like this."
Keep that in mind, Graham. Earlier in the show, Morgan Freeman chatted about why The Shawshank Redemption earned huge praise only after it failed at the box office.
"It tanked at the box office," he remembered. "And the reason for that is because the only real marketing that movies get, I think, is word of mouth. You can promote it all you want, but if the first few audiences can't say they've seen a really great film, then you're not going to go very far.
"So, people went and saw The Shawshank Redemption, and said, 'I saw this really terrific movie' [but they couldn't remember the name]. One lady saw me in the elevator one time and said, 'Oh, I saw you in The Hudsucker Production'.
"If you can't get word across, it just doesn't do well."
"That's why Alfie did well," his fellow guest Michael Caine chimed in.
The Graham Norton Show continues next Friday night with Warren Beatty, Miranda Hart, Keeley Hawes, Peter Capaldi and Jennifer Hudson on BBC One.
