This Morning's Phillip Schofield almost died – and missed England's 2-1 win – following an incident with a bee that almost sent him into anaphylactic shock.

The presenter revealed that he stepped on a bee last night (June 18), which stung him on the sole of his foot, and the 56-year-old presenter said that he felt like he was descending down a tunnel.

Speaking about the incident on today's show, Phillip said: "My wife was ready with the EpiPen and she was saying, 'Do I do it now? Do I do it now?'"

"And you only do it if you can't administer it yourself?" questioned Holly, adding: "I think I'd be tempted to go, 'Urgh, just have it'."

Phil noted: "I think Steph [Phil's wife] was disappointed because you've got to go in via the bum cheek."

But thankfully Phil explained that he's okay now.

"Yeah, I'm okay, I'm fine now. I would've missed the match and I'd have missed Love Island!"

Speaking of Love Island, former contestants Charlie Frederick and Hayley Hughes refused to sit together during their appearance on Lorraine and This Morning, which meant they had to be interviewed on separate sofas.

However, it seems the whole thing might have been a ruse, as they've since been spotted together on a date.

This Morning continues weekdays from 10.30am.
