Barrister ‘pulled Prince Philip from car’ after crash

A barrister has told how he pulled the “very shocked” Duke of Edinburgh from his Land Rover after it overturned in a crash.

Prince Philip, 97, walked away unharmed from the collision between his car and a Kia yesterday evening.

But witness Roy Warne, 75, said the royal was left “very shocked and shaken” following the smash near the Sandringham Estate.

The accident took place close to the Queen’s Sandringham Estate.

Farage tells Leave voters: prepare for fresh referendum

Nigel Farage has urged Leave campaigners to prepare for a second referendum as the Brexit deadlock continues.

The former Ukip leader spoke last night at a Leave Means Leave rally, telling Brexiteers they must “face reality in the face”.

The MEP spoke alongside former Conservative leader Iain Duncan-Smith, MP Esther McVey and Hotelier Rocco Forte.

Arrest made after student killed in Melbourne

A man has been arrested over the murder of an Israeli student who was killed close to her university in Melbourne.

The 21-year-old’s body was found by passers-by early on Wednesday near her campus in the northeast of the Australian city.

She was attacked while speaking on the phone to her sister, police said.

A man, 20, was arrested in a nearby suburb today.

Shutdown: Trump cancel’s House Speaker’s trip

Donald Trump has cancelled Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Brussels and Afghanistan as a tit-for-tat over the government shutdown goes on.

The US leader suspended the House Speaker’s excursion, saying it would be better if she stayed in Washington to debate the issue.

The move follows Mrs Pelosi’s attempt to delay his State of the Union address.

The sparring took place as federal workers go unpaid amid the month-long shutdown and budget fight over the border wall.

Del Boy: protect Only Fools tower block

Sir David Jason said it would be a "shame" if the tower block featured in Only Fools And Horses is demolished.

Harlech Tower in Acton, in London, was used to portray Nelson Mandela House, the home of the Trotters in the beloved sitcom.

But earlier this month it emerged plans are in place to demolish it as part of a £650 million regeneration of the area.

Sir David, who played Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter in comedy show, said last night that the tower should be protected.
