Harry lands in Canada to be reunited with Meghan and baby Archie

The Duke of Sussex has landed in Canada and is set to be reunited with Meghan and their baby Archie.

Prince Harry boarded a flight to Vancouver last night after his meeting with Boris Johnson and world leaders at a summit in London.

The summit was likely to be one of his few remaining official engagements before he and Meghan step back as "senior" royals in spring.

Harry's return to Canada also came after his brother Prince William hosted his first reception alone at Buckingham Palace.

Trump's legal team demand 'swift' acquittal at impeachment trial

Donald Trump’s legal team has demanded that the president is immediately acquitted by the Senate, branding his impeachment a “perversion of the Constitution”.

In a brief that submitted before hearings of only the third impeachment trial in US history begin later today, they called for the articles to be “swiftly” rejected.

Mr Trump was charged with abusing his presidential power by asking Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden, and with obstructing Congress.

Jailed British-Australian woman claims Iran tried to recruit her as spy

A British-Australian woman jailed in Tehran has said she feels "abandoned and forgotten" and claimed Iran tried to recruit her as a spy.

In letters smuggled out of her cell in the notorious Evin prison, university lecturer Kylie Moore-Gilbert begged to be allowed to leave the restrictive unit where she has served periods in solitary confinement.

Dr Moore-Gilbert was arrested in September 2018 while at an educational conference and later convicted of espionage.

China confirms human-to-human transmission of deadly virus

China has confirmed there has been human-to-human transmission of the deadly new coronavirus, raising fears it could spread more quickly and widely.

The head of a Chinese government expert team said two people in Guangdong province in southern China caught the virus from family members.

The development came after authorities announced a sharp uptick in the number of confirmed cases to more than 200.

Four people have now died after being infected, authorities confirmed.

McGuinness and Harris step out for Top Gear premiere

Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris reunited on the red carpet at the premiere of the latest series of Top Gear.

The duo looked cheerful as ever as they headed to Leicester Square to mark the return of the BBC Two motoring programme last night.

To mark the occasion, a number of the vehicles that will feature in the upcoming episodes were transported to the London landmark.

Together with The Stig, McGuinness and Harris posed alongside cars including an Aston Martin DBX - with the event marking the first time the model has been seen on public roads.
