Phil Vickery's Christmas dinner preparation hacks have divided This Morning viewers.

The celebrity chef appeared on the daytime programme on Monday (December 11) when he was instructing viewers on how best to make a sausage casserole for these cold winter nights.

Before that, however, he was tasked with answering viewer questions about Christmas dinner preparations – and one of his answers had viewers on Twitter uncertain.

Live on air, Vickery revealed he cooks all of his vegetables for Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and then reheats them in the microwave.

Vickery elaborated that the exception to this rule is roast potatoes, which should be cooked on the day. Besides that, you're good to cook your carrots, parsnips, brocolli and brussels on Christmas Eve.

While this is no doubt a time-saving and crockery-sparing hack... some people watching at home felt it just wasn't the same as prepping on the real day itself, and took to Twitter to share those views.

"Phil Vickery just said on This Morning you can cook veg day before than microwave on Xmas day!" Said one viewer.

"Surely not, Jamie Oliver? Sort him out!"

The chef also faced criticism for his advice to not drink any alcohol until after the Christmas dinner is prepared.
