'This Morning' fans delighted as Holly Willoughby finally returns
This Morning’s faithful were in for a treat this morning, as the dream team of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were back together for the first time in months.
Willoughby had taken a break from the show to fill in for Ant McPartlin by co-hosting I’m a Celebrity alongside Declan Donnelly in Australia, and she and Schofield then took a Christmas holiday from the ITV daytime show.
Singer Rochelle Humes had been keeping Willoughby’s seat warm while she was away, but she was delighted to be back on the sofa – and fans were pleased to see her.

Of course, the duo were hosting the debut of Dancing on Ice on Sunday night, but this was their first show back on This Morning.
So glad normality has been restored on #ThisMorning and we’ve got the wonderful @hollywills back 😀😀

Talking about her time in the jungle, she said: “It is bonkers, it’s just so different, you don’t think about anything else, you just do that show and everybody’s talking about it while you’re there…it was a real adventure.”
Willoughby became known for her terror of everything about the jungle and added: “I know, I’m a great big wuss, but we all knew that was going to happen.
“Last time I told you this story, I was a little bit sozzled at the wrap party. I got bitten by a green ant. I freaked out and I burst into tears and ran out.
“Fleur East was covered head to toe in green ants and I cried because I was bitten by one – but I wasn’t there for that. I didn’t sign up for that, it wasn’t meant to happen to me.”

But there could be a wedge driven between the best pal presenters, as Dermot O’Leary revealed later in the show.
He confirmed that This Morning was up for a best daytime TV gong at the National Television Awards…but also that Willoughby and Schofield would go head to head in the shortlist for best presenter.

How are we ever supposed to choose between them?
One thing’s for certain, the pair will enjoy the NTAs party whoever wins.
