If Fox and the Hound has taught us anything (after all that crying, of course), it's that foxes and dogs can be the best of friends.

And that's pretty much what's happened to Natalie Reynolds' fox Jasper, who lives alongside her three dogs, cat and even her two children in perfect harmony.

To prove that foxes are more than your archetypal storybook villain, Natalie spoke to This Morning's Eamonn and Ruth about what it's like to rear a fox.

Revealing that she'd had Jasper since he was just two days old, Natalie said that having a fox is like having a 'cat and dog' hybrid. Sounds pretty dreamy to us.

"He's not really trainable," she conceded. "People have trained foxes to sit, but I don't have a purpose to train him."

Insisting that Jasper was "domesticated", Natalie went on to lament foxes' "bad press". "A lot of the people use the words 'cunning' and 'sly', [but] they're very clever."

As Jasper bounced around on a trampoline behind her, Natalie told Eamonn and Ruth, "he's very affectionate...very cuddly. He's very full of life and excitable. He's not vicious.

"He sees [my children] as part of his little pack," she added.

So, if you've ever fancied adopting a fox but had your reservations (because why wouldn't you have done that?), This Morning has proved that it's a pretty good shout actually.

So long as you hand-rear it from birth, understand its body language and can keep a watchful eye on it, of course. On second thoughts, perhaps we'll stick to goldfish.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV.
