A stellar cast has been announced to head up This Morning while its usual presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take their scheduled summer break.

Usual Friday morning hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will be fronting the popular ITV morning magazine show from Monday to Thursday over the summer months, while a rotating line-up of guest hosts will fill in on Fridays.

The next two Fridays will see regular stand-in host Rochelle Humes take the reins alongside former Strictly Come Dancing champion Ore Oduba.

X Factor host (and new father) Dermot O’Leary will then team up with Humes on Friday July 31 for more news, gossip and debate.

The full line-up for the August helping of This Morning are still yet to be confirmed, however popular interviewer Alison Hammond is set to step in and present alongside either O’Leary or Humes – much to the delight of fans.

Eamonn Holmes said: “It’s set to be a very different summer for us all, so we hope that here on This Morning we can continue to provide some sense of normality… and lots of craziness of course! We’ll do our very best to keep you posted and up to date with life during the next seven weeks.”

Ruth Langsford added: “Like many viewers at home, I’ve finally had my hair done (hurrah!) and am ready to face the summer, literally head-on! Come and join us for a cosy cuppa on the This Morning sofa each weekday throughout July and August.”

After a difficult few months keeping This Morning on-air during the coronavirus crisis, Phillip and Holly will return to the programme in September following a well-deserved rest.

Holly wrote a particularly heartfelt Instagram post dedicated to the crew of This Morning for being supportive during a particularly difficult and confusing time.

“Thank you for staying with us over the last 109 days,” she wrote. “Thank you all the production who came in. The production team who worked from home, crew, the TM family and fellow presenters who are consistently brilliant.

“[Thank you] mostly to Phillip Schofield for metaphorically holding my hand and reliably being socially distanced shoulder to shoulder with me... What a strange time... Feeling incredibly grateful.”

This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV
