Morning TV Show Host Accidentally Kicks Costar in Head During Segment on In-Flight Seating
'Good Morning Britain' host Ed Balls accidentally kicked his co-host Susanna Reid in the head on Wednesday
Ain’t that a kick in the head!
One TV host’s morning started with a bang after their co-host accidentally kicked them in the head during a segment on in-flight seating on Wednesday.
The moment happened on the U.K. news program Good Morning Britain when co-hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid debated whether it is OK to put your feet up on the seat in front of you during a plane or train ride.
As the duo made their way over to four mocked-up plane seats set up for them in the studio with regular commentators Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire, Reid, 53, asked, “Is it OK for Ed and Andrew then to…”
But before she could finish her question, Balls, 56, accidentally caught Reid on her head as he placed his shoes on the top of her seat.
You’ve paid for your ticket - whether it’s a plane trip or train ride, why shouldn’t you get comfy?
But is it ever okay to put your feet on the seat?@edballs might have answered that question already 😅 pic.twitter.com/6VW01DeQ5M— Good Morning Britain (@GMB) January 17, 2024

“Ow!” said Reid as she grabbed the back of her head and leaned forward.
“I’m sorry!” gasped Balls. “I’m sorry. Are you OK?” he continued as he rubbed his colleague’s side.
“I think we’ve decided it’s not OK,” responded Reid sarcastically with a smile. “There we go!”

Balls then placed his hand over his mouth as he laughed at his on-air faux pas. “Hands up!” he added, admitting his mistake.
Reid went on to joke, “I don’t know if I can carry on doing the program. I’m seeing stars.”
She continued, “That is our debate this morning, should you put your feet up on the seats?”

“I think Ed Balls has just answered that question,” added Pierce.
According to The Guardian, later in the episode, Reid said that her eyesight “went blurry for 20 minutes” after the kick from Balls, who is the U.K.’s former shadow chancellor.
Balls has been presenting alongside Reid since 2021 following Piers Morgan’s departure from the ITV show in March of that year after his controversial comments about Meghan Markle.
